We published the 180-page book for this seventh-generation, family-owned company in February 2024 on the occasion of its 175th anniversary, largely for a readership of employees, family members, customers and community leaders. Living Our Values updates a book our team produced for Menasha for its 150th anniversary in 1999, telling a compelling story of a mature company wrestling with a crisis in identity, leadership and performance, and its successful reinvention under a new business model. It documents the parallel efforts of Smith family shareholders, the board of directors and management to come to grips with the challenges of changing markets and to rebuild the company around a new set of value propositions and bedrock heritage values—lifting Menasha to the greatest success in its history.
